Not likely, because no source that says so anywhere; all sites about the architecture and furnishings of the Vatican mention the marbles, tapestries, great statues, rich clothes, and other luxuries, but nothing about gold taps, so I'll venture to say it's not the case.

Still, gold taps aren't that rare at all. Many residences that belonged to XIXth century bourgeois or aristocrats have them in France, as do many hotels, even in unflashy Denmark.

if the dirty old man even took a bath, they would probably be gold along with the solid gold tub.

Solid gold, unlikely. If they were, they wouldn't last very long!
