i dont get why this is such a big craze. and people have "friends" on there and yet if they go to school or work with thier "friends" on myspace they say nothing to them if they see them...or is this just me? (btw i dont have a myspace account?

I have visited myspace,but wouldn't think about making an account.I don't feel like getting stalked down,raped,and killed today!

I think the reason a lot of people like MySpace is that for the first time in their life, they have a place where there are free tools to put together a site that otherwise they would not know how to do. Music, videos, slide shows, backgrounds, animations etc. Also, it seems that some people are running some type of contest to see how many friends they can get on their site, whether they are really their friends or not. Kinda like getting points on here, what advantage is it.

Because people are social animals and wish to use various ways to socialize and myspace is one of them. I do not have a account there but I do have 2 blog pages for people to view my opinions and learn something about me...yahoo 360 and spaces.msn.com/zen2bop

for me, it's something to do to pass the time. much like yahoo answers. the friends i have on myspace are actual friends, not just some random people who liked my pictures.

I think the obsession is at first when you are creating your web page and getting everything all set up... I think eventually that will die down. It gets more addicting because they create more layouts and phrases and different attractions for it.
