I agree that could be several films, it would help if you remembered at least the characters names in the film. Oh and it's ...THELMA and Louise, not Stella and Louise, and in that movie two females were in the car going over the cliff and that movie is not from the 70's so I don't not know what that person is talking about. If you can try to think of some more info from the movie that might help you get some knowledgable answers not misguiding ones.

Oh yeah ! THAT movie ! With the car over the cliff scene! HAD to be Thelma and Louise- you just missed that Thelma was male and was wearing a beard I guess.

That sounds either like the movie:"Christine" about a possessed car! Or "Diesel", a movie about a guy who's Tormented by this Big "Possessed-Rig"! It was a cool movie in its day, now kinda corny. The Christine movie, I saw the previews so much in those days, it didn't catch my interest enough, to go see it! But, friends made sure, to tell me about it and said I had a car named after me. Which, I privately thought my real name is not Christine, its Christina! So, that irritated me, when they said that to me, alot! Especially when my 5th grade teacher: called me Christine, the whole year! And, I was so sick of her saying my name wrong, that It stuck with me until, today! 39 years, later! Stupid, hoh?

Is it Juggernaut? Or does that end with a truck going over a cliff? It's definitely a film from the 70's.

That's not Thelma and Louis. That show stared Susan Sarandon and Gina Davis and they was in the car at the end.

i was thinking of the movie Duel. was there a trailer truck following it? after the car rolls off cliff, was there a guy standing over the cliff looking down? if it was, then it was Duel directed by Steven Spielberg from the early 70s. There wasn't much dialog in that movie and just the guy in his car with the trailer following him. that movie made me afraid of highways and trailer trucks.
