Primarily those foods/drinks that have a high sodium content. If this is for yourself, ask your health care provider how many total grams of sodium you are allowed each day. Check labels on products for sodium content before purchasing or before preparing.

If weight and cholesterol (or all lipids) are an issue and a contributing factor to the hypertension (high blood pressure) then calories, carbs and fat intake may need monitoring as well.

I suggest you go online and research the dietary guidelines. You may also wish to purchase a book on basic nutrition.

generally, these would be foods with a high sodium content. depending on the individual, other conditions may be present such as high cholesterol levels and artherosclerosis which is the narrowing of blood vessels. in this case it's important to avoid foods which could worsen the problem such as oily, processed, buttery, fatty or fast food. either way, try to stick to a healthy diet - low fat, low salt, low cholesterol etc. it would be a good idea to consult the patient's doctor on a suitable diet.

Foods high in salt content should be reduced. Fast foods, adding salt during cooking, canned vegetables, processed meats, carbonated drinks, salty snacks are responsible in holding fluids in the body which can contribute to high blood pressure.

You really need to talk to your doctor. THis is not somethig to play with. Everyone has a different body type and some factors that need to be included you have not written. The obvious things to avoid is sodium (salt), beyond that, your really need to get a medical opinion that is case specific to your circumstances.

You should limit anything processed. This includes frozen meals, anything in a can, bag or box. Fresh and homemade meals are best, but always read the labels and stick to the serving sizes if you are going to eat something processed.

yeah anything high in sodium, watch out for food labels, read thru them... sometimes they are heavily high in sodium ( crazy)..... well the other thing, reduce your cholesterol intake, eat more fruits and vegs......

more cholesterol means more blocking in your blood vessels and more blocking means higher blood pressure ( can u see the analogy that the smaller the hose the higher the water pressure)
