It can, but be wary. You must ask yourself a few questions first. What were the circumstances for the breakup? Have the circumstances changed? Why do I want to reconcile? Is it just a "comfort" factor or do I really want to be with this person forever. The answers may be difficult for you, but it is important to your future well being. I needed to ask myself these questions when I considered reconciling with my ex-husband. I realized it was just a comfort factor (we were together for 12 years when I left him almost 2 years ago.) I hope I have been helpful. Good luck and don't forget to do some serious soul searching.

Of course it's possible for it to work! I have several relatives and friends who have been married, gotten divorced, married other people, then realized after that marriage fell apart that the person they really wanted was their original spouse and went back. One couple recently celebrated their second tenth anniversary!
You need to think about what broke things up in the first place. Was it immaturity on one or both parts, an affair, just growing apart? Has the situation changed significantly? If you're going back to the same situation you left, expect another breakup. If the other person, or you, or both, have grown or changed, then there's a chance.

Once an ex always an ex. No matter how much you loved each other in the past, breaking up and being apart will change you. You might be closer than ever for awhile, but once an ex always an ex.

I truely believe that it can. I have gotten back with my ex several times. It just depends on how much you love him/her.

If you don't you'll never know. If you do it'll need some work, you'll have another way in to each other compared to two strangers. you'll get closer to each other if you work for it.

yes it can...although with its own set of new awkwardness and issues, but it can work...just avoid the mistakes you both made the first time around
