Hepa air filters are great for that and they take more than you would think out. Another option is to leave the windows closed if you are not doing that now. Wind blows dust in more than you would think so either have to live with it or close the windowsand get a hepa filter system, Also look for a hepa filter system for your vac as they spew a lot of the dust you think you are picking up into the air too.

Well,
Reducing the amount of powder you use would be a big help.
Do not leave any door or window open unnecessary since dust can come in from there.
The dryer can be another good factor due to the amount of dry small thread falls out.
Also, pets, especially dog and cat, with the hair can cause the problem.
And remember the dust under your bed is your dead skin. Try to take shower more often and keep your skin moistured as walking on carpet causes your skin dry out faster.
That 's about all the big factors. However, there are little ones also. Like dust can come from the fire-place, your shoes from walking in-out of your house, electronic devices, such as hair dryer, air conditioner, heater... your clothes after being wear...
You can solve the problem by reduce the use of unnecessary things. Also, an air filter can be a very good option. They run around $50 - $200 and you can find them almost anywhere.
There is a catch to this. Cleaning is good. Being upset with dust even though everything is clean is not good. It can cause mental problem. Try to find a line there.
Hope that help.

You can place cheesecloth over each of your vents, which will trap most of the dust particles. Replace furnace filters regularly (like every 15-30 days), try using the specially formulated Pledge to dust with and Febreze allergen reducer on all of your cloth surfaces. See how that works.

Ionic Air Purifyer does the job quite nicely. Expensive, but less time cleaning allows you to focus your attention eleswhere.
Oreck vaccum makes an excellent one that is reasonably priced and they are actually running a promotion on them now.
