The mercury is an issue with ALL fish products. The most secure fish w/ lowest degrees comes from the most distant seas and also you'll pay a appropriate classification for it. In theory, there is extra mercury in a fish liver than in its body, because the liver cleans pollution out of the body. i do not comprehend if all and sundry has ever studied that, although. Cod liver oil is a lot extra substantial and low-cost than fish oil. 2 causes, perhaps 3--there is extra oil there, it truly is been round for quite a few generations and fish oil is each and each and every of the recent well-being foodstuff rage. There are extra omega-3 fatty acids in fish oil than in cod liver oil. Fish liver oil is a extra effectual source of nutrition A and likely extra effectual at relieving arthritis. The least refluxing oil is one which also has a digestive enzyme in it said as lipase. Lemon merely covers the style somewhat. i love mint myself. i do not take the pills, merely the liquid. Tastes quite reliable happening and digests extra immediately than gelatin lined pills.

I would try to buy a deepwater fish oil or maybe a high quality salmon oil, not cod liver oil. They do not necessarily provide the same benefits:

"Cod liver oils and fish oils are not the same. Cod liver oil is extracted from cod liver and is an excellent source of vitamins A and D. Fish oils are extracted from the tissues (flesh) of fatty fish like salmon and herring and are good sources of EPA and DHA. Fish oils contain very little vitamin A and D, but cod liver oil does contain EPA and DHA. However, you would probably exceed the recommended daily intake of vitamins A and D if you were to try to obtain therapeutic amounts of EPA and DHA from cod liver oil."

Fish oil capsules are generally taken to improve cardiovascular system. Cod liver oil (yes, it's fish oil too) is generally taken to have bowel movements. Depends on what problem you're having but I don't think taking them both would hurt you.

This oil may be made also from liver of some other sea fish, not only cod, e.g. halibut (turbot). They have similar value, you should not take them both at the same time.
