seen this tree in northport, mi it has beautiful dark red or burgandy flowers

Crataegus laevigata...Scarlet Hawthorn, or English Hawthorn, or Paul's Scarlet, Now I know it doesn't answer the where to get one part of the question, but now you know the Latin, and some common names for the tree and i hope it makes talkingto the garden center folks easier!

Are you talking about Paul's Scarlet Hawthorn or Crataegus laevigata?
Your best bet for finding them locally would be to call your DNR (department of natural resources) office.

I looked by I cannot find any shrubs or trees by this name....there is a tree referred to as a Hawthorne tree but it does not fit the description that you stated....sorry hope someone is able to help you.....

i would check some of the plant and flower companies, like spring hill or michigen bulb company, they have many trees and plants in there catalogs, to get them, punch up each name on search than go brouse through there on line catalog. hope this helps, good luck

Ellsberry,Mo. There is a nursery there I worked at years ago"15" and they did have them ,then. It still is going stronge and I am sure they still have them. They had ones there I never heard of. I don't know if they have a web site, they might!!! GOOD LUCK!!!

local nursuries may have them, but you may call and ask them to order it for you, if they don't have it in stock. Also, local garden magazines which SELL plants may have them, but they are usually very small and take quite awhile to develop into a full sized plant. I would call your local nursery.

Try the Burpee's seed catalog. They sometimes have trees too.
