Well, he wanted to focus on his music, so he didn't renew his WWE contract so he'd have the time to tour with his band Fozzy.
He's been also doing some acting and apparently even some writing.
And I guess he's been also spending time with his wife and son.
Sadly, his mother passed away not too long ago.
Oh yeah, and apparently he just had a corrective laser surgery done, to fix his eyesight,

Here's the correct answer....Chris Jericho has taken a leave of absence from wrestling due to burnout and is on a European tour with his band Fozzy, who are huge over there. He has said in interviews that he will likely return to the WWE, but for now is concentrating on his music career. Hope this info helps.

Anyway, Y2J, has left the WWE to be a full time lead singer for his band Fozzy!!
I saw his band at WWE New York a couple months ago, he was awesome!
But I do miss him!

It happend because he needed to focus on his music career and he went into a mtch with Cena and it was a your fired match and Chris lost so he was fired
