Why don't you wear one? Is it because you still want to appear "available" to other women? If you do not wear one, why do you expect your wife to?

I would just like to hear a guy's view on this.

I ask the question because my ex-husband refused to wear his, and then had a hissy fit when I took mine off. Why do men think they should be able to have it both ways?

That's a damn good question. I'm married and ALWAYS wear my ring. I have friends who are married, but don't wear theirs. I've asked and always get some limp dick excuse about not wanting to ruin it or they don't like wearing jewelry (but they wear other rings and bracelets).

Doesn't make sense to me either!

Married men meet women who are willing to jump in the sack all the time. About ten percent of women get turned on by a ring. It's a female competitive thing. They roll the dice with the guy for a chance to his bank roll. The other 90 percent need a hot car. I know because I have both.

I am answering for my husband. He is an electrician, so him wearing his ring is a huge safety risk. It is not a huge issue to me if he wears his ring or not. All know I know, is that I don't want his fingers or hand ripped off from wearing his ring at work. I would rather him have all his digits and hands to be able to touch and hold me. And besides, I know he belongs to me. The ring is just a symbol. Wedding rings are just a symbol, taking your vows and marriage seriously is what makes a marriage.

I wear mine all the time except when I'm at work (safety reasons) or doing something that could ruin it. but If I had to guess I would say if a married guy is not wearing a ring, he wants to appear to be available.

I never wore a wedding ring for safety reasons only. My wife at first disagreed with me until I obtained and showed her a picture of a finger that had been ripped off of a hand by a piece of power equipment. She finally saw the light and never asked me to wear a ring again. So it isn't always that we don't love our wives but trying to protect our bodys.
Only degenerates who think they are God's gift to women don't wear wedding rings that are guilty of not showing respect for the women they marry.

wearing a ring doesn't insure you are committed to each other. I am on my 3rd crazy marriage. I quit wearing mine because I feel if you aren't married in your heart a ring isn't going to show different. It is just a symbol. I did what I did because I am tired of pretending but can't do anything about it yet financially so eventually I will!

I know you mainly asked this question to hear mens answers. But I figured I'd do my hubby a favor by answering this one for him.
My husband is a construction worker and if he were to wear his at work it would get ruined and/or could be dangerous for him seeing he uses electrical tools or it could get caught on something, neither one of us wants that to happen. But other then that he always wears it.
I think there are guys out there that don't want to wear it because they don't want anyone to know thier married.Which I say if you don't want anyone to know then you shouldn't be married. But to all the mature men out there that are proud to wear thier rings, because thier in love and want to tell the world I give them all 2 thumbs up!

My husband doesnt wear his at work 1.He cant. 2. It would ruin the ring but as soon as he gets home he puts his on and its there until he goes to work. I dont mind. He loves. A ring is a symbol.

I always get this question from people, because my husband does not wear one either. I don't mind either. I know he loves me and he will be with me forever. I completely trust him. My husband does not wear it, for one, because of his job. He has to use a big drill, that drills holes into the ground, and it gives him blisters. Plus, he is not a jewelry person. He never has been and never will be. Their is nothing wrong with that.

Traditionally, Jewish men do not wear wedding rings, but as for myself, when I worked at a factory, I never wore one because people loose their fingers by way of wedding ring.
