it seems to suck pretty hard right now. Corrupt officials, money spend on corrupt corporations and political buddies, no money for the people or social programs, churches dictating how we live, how does one deal with this?

i think the problem is primarily the money is being spent in all the wrong places. it should be evened out. happiness is no longer the goal, money is the goal.

People need to get involved at the local level. It really does start there. When you change the local government, it can work up the ladder. People make too many excuses for not voting. The number of non voters is staggering. If you do not vote, don't complain.
It also does not help the Congress votes themselves a pay raise each year. This should not be allowed. pay in Congress should be a percentage of what the President makes, and no more.

Pray and build a better relationship with God. All the things you named have been going on since man has been around. What people have not suffered these ills of society? Yes, it is hard to take and harder to live in if you do not trust God for your joy. Tell the world the Good News and let everybody know the joy found in Jesus. You will learn to endure. Just think about how grateful you will be to enter your new home in heaven.

America is a great place to live, no matter what you say (all those negative things you mention). But, in my opinion, to make our place a better place is to help others, to volunteer in causes that are good, to stay at our work and to be in touch with nature... there are so many things we can do individually, it all depends on where we live.

stop going to work.... for one day............to the shops......... for one day........ out of the house...... for one day..........switch the lights and the gas off..................... for one day........ do these things and tell another 10 million americans to do the same for one day..................... on the same day.
Then threaten the american government that if they do not listen to your reqests............ the same thing will happen in one week from that day.......... simple really............ anyone got the guts?
