If they can continue that trend and they don't let the the fact they are on top get to them. Why not? They seem to have a winning team about every 20 years or so, look back at 83', 84, and I believe 86'.

Nope. Reality set in during the past week. Losing 3 of 4 to the Yankees and 2 of 3 to the Red Sox plus losing to the White Sox last night. They are a good team just not good enough to be the AL Champs this year, moreso since losing Maroth.

Not this year. This is their first bite at the apple in a long time. It will take a while to develop into championship caliber.
I grew up in Detroit but am a Yankee fan now. So, I root for Detroit as long as they are not playing the Yankees.

I'm happy to see them doing as well as they are doing but I do not think they have as much firepower as the yankees, redsoxs, and whitesoxs do to be there at the end of the season. I beleive the whitesoxs will win the central and either the yankees or the redsoxs will get the wildcard.

Pitching most likely will not hold up. Probably end up second behind Chicago, who will go on to win the World Series again with the best rotation in baseball.

The Tigers will come back to Earth and will finish behind both Chicago and Cleveland.

Detroit has Dave Dombrowski AND Jim Leyland. I'm a Marlins fan, and those guys worked magic for us!
