My friend's sister and I had a dating relationship about 15 years ago. She and I clicked like the stars and moon. For some reason it never worked out. She married another guy and now is divorced. We had a falling out because I told her the guy was a jerk (I know poor move on my part). Turns out the guy was a jerk, but she still is aprehensive to speak to me. So my friend sent me his link in myspace and there she is on his friends list. What do I do? Should I contact her? I really miss talking with her. I am close with her whole family, but because she and I clashed it's slightly awkward. I really don't want to upset her, so I haven't contacted her. I feel that I might be selfish again and it may make things worse by contacting her. What should I do?

Sorry I did not clarify. I want to contact this person to bridge the friendship once again...there are no romantic connections to be made.

I think you should contact her. Ask her to listen to what you have to say & tell her that if she still wants nothing else to do with you then you will stand back. If she tells you that she is not ready to talk to you, don't let your manly pride get in the way, tell her you will be there when she is ready to talk.

You know, life is too short for "Should I?' and "What if?". Is the pain your feeling by not contacting her worth the not knowing? At least if she's upset by you contacting her, you'll know the truth and you can carry on. There's nothing worse than uncertainty, so I say what have you got to lose? What have you got to gain? Sounds like a chance a happiness with a great family to boot! She may be thinking the same way. And if not, life is about risk and chance! Go ahead and take this one!

I think it depends on the reasons WHY you want to contact her ...
If it's just to renew your friendship, I'd say go ashead and contact her ...
But if you want more than that, then I'd say that you really need to think about what you want to do with her, see whether she's available, and may want the same .... And don't forget that these feelings were from a long time ago ... many things may have changed ...

Good luck anyway ;^)

Go ahead and contact her. I don't think you'll upset her by doing that. Just ask her how things are and that you miss talking to her. What you both clashed about is in the past. She's apprehensive cos she's not sure how you feel. You'll both feel better talking. It's a way to put the past behind both of you.

I say go for it. Try to reconnect and see where it goes. It may take some time for her really open up to you, especially since when it comes down to it you were right, but you never know what she really might be thinking or where it could go.

Just be honest with her, tell her you've missed talking to her etc. But make sure you take all of it very slow.

Good luck.
