I strongly encourage you to contact your nearest Prison Fellowship Ministries office.

They are set up to help inmates just released, just like you.

God bless,

Well, going back to school shows people that your serious about your future. Even if you have already been to college. If you haven't finished finish. If you have take something else. Get a job. It may be hard being an ex-con, but someone will hire you. Fast food, bar-tending, and construction are some occupations that don't mind a background of your sort. Get your own place, don't bum off other people. Even if it's small or dumpy it will still be your very own place. Save what money you can. Because social security has gone down the crapper. Don't hang around the wrong crowd. Even if your not doing anything wrong. If your with them you'll get charged for it. Good Luck

Good luck first of all. If I were in your shoes I would look at what are the things I like to do or want to do and aspire toward goals to get there. Start small so you dont get overwhelmed, it can be frustrating to try to do too much at once. Stay positive and surround yourself with good positive people who will help support your goals and encourage you when things get tough. I recommend finding a "transition counselor" most counties have them to help people restart their lives, you can also check with local community colleges for vocational rehab and other programs for people restarting their careers and offer guidance...

Enjoy life & try something new all the time!

1. Reconnect with any family/friends that you can.
2. Figure out what your short term and long term goals are.
3. Get a job if you don't have one.
4. Figure it out as you go, like the rest of us.
