I have the rare Black elephant ears that are growing here in East Texas and spreading like crazy right now. I have dug one up and put it off to the side of another to encourage spreading and it didn't even wilt so I would say right now is a great time for moving them as long as they are well watered due to all this heat.

Sure. They are hardy. If you want to improve your transplant success use root stimulator on them (and any transplant) Fertilome makes a good stim that I use all the time. Good luck
