Do you have your popup blocker on?

You need to go to TOOLS, then Internet Options. This is located on top of your browser. Then go to PRIVACY and there should be a popup blocker option to check off.

If there isnt, then go to HELP and then click on ABOUT INTERNET EXPLORER. See if you have the version SP2 for your IE browser. If you dont, then you will need to go to http://www.microsoft.com and then click on the left nav for MICROSOFT UPDATE. You will need to upgrade your browser to SP2 so that you get the updated version of IE that has a popup blocker. Or you can just download a popup blocker or use your Security Firewall suite to handle popups. Normally these popping pages are results of you entering an adult or a site that does heavy advertisements and it will constantly use a javascript method to popup new windows.

Since they are blank pages, I am thinking that the session lost its reference to what page to popup so its using the default blank page. You just need to install the popup blocker to stop this and you might want to check your STARTUP to see what programs are running that might be launching this.

Go to START MENU then type MSCONFIG. Under the startup tab you need to uncheck the programs you do not recognize.

The pop-ups gets more vicious as time goes by, they improve as they try to sneak their way into your computer.

There are several thing you can d/l for free for pop-up blocker, like the yahoo toolbar has a good blocker that'll block most of the pop-ups.

You can also download window defender from window website to sweep your computer.
