Please mention how much you have to pay in tolls, and how much you'd be willing to pay to avoid the congestion, need to leave early and extra time it takes sitting in line to pay the toll.

Well I tell you this. I hate traffic!!! In Virginia Beach area, there is this one way that nobody takes, because it is a toll bridge, and it costs $2.00 each way. But if you go the other way, whichis through an underground tunnel, then you will be there for like 45min-1hr, and with the toll bridge if you wait for 5min then it is a busy day. I would rather pay $4.00 a day, then to take the free long route. So I guess I would pay whatever it took to get me the least traffic, because I can not stand to be driving in stop and go traffic, it just drives me crazy. You also have to ask yourself, what is your time worth to yourself? If I did not pay the $4, then I would spend an extra 2hrs on the road, instead of at home, so $2 an hour is worth itfor me to pay to get out of traffic!!!

I avoid tolls at all costs. I'll go out of my way to take back roads.

In my areas the tolls are crazy high. Last time I took my truck with little trailer over a small bridge on a state route the toll was $15.00 !!! I don't live in NYC... I live in a rural farm community.
