How do I raise my child to cope with a world full of tossers? The idiots are finally in charge!?

It seems to me that idiots are in charge throughout the world. Whereas this may generally be good news for idiots through to people with average intelligence! How does it translate to the small percentage that are the 'unfortunate intellegent'?

It's a good point that the question appears open - it was mean't to be! If you can't think of an answer, don't bother to answer!

Your question makes about as much sense as the idiots do in governing our world affairs.

I think that current times are not really different from any other times. In all times, people didn't like what other people around them do, and they didn't like what those who are in charge do. In all times, the variance in intelligence between people was quite high, and those who are smart usually were not in charge. One of the primary reasons imho is that becoming "the one in charge" is a serious sacrifice, primarily because of ideas like "power corrupts". Smart people usually don't want to do that. Morons usually do. Btw, this behavior of smart people can be viewed as egoistic.

Who's in charge should not really affect your child. You are important. Help your child learn to think. Protect him/her from the stupidity, dogmas and forced opinions of the outer world. Also protect from your own opinions and dogmas - just help the child to come to his/her own conclusions.

PS: I'm not religious (in common sense of this word, i.e. I'm not a follower of any religion, and not a dogmatic person). I'm also not on any drugs (well, maybe a bit too much coffee). And I'm not drunk right now either ;)

Just teach him to do justly, love mercy and walk humbly with his God. To love everyone, regardless of the level of society, intelligence, or financial status they have.
He would be a wise child if he had these things.

teach your child not to objectify anything or anyone!: very very hard but tell him to see people as individuals and not as groups, not as an economy, not as people to be patronised, and to look down upon people who do obejectify..
even the nicest "seeming" person can be an objectifying a$$hole in their truest nature watch out for people like that...
just some thoughts:
once people start treating another human being as an "it" and ignore their feelings, opnions, ways of being and dont respect them as human beings anymore by labeling them or objectifying them then u get evil that is what evil is.. senseless cruelty but denying a persons right to think and feel and be what they want and to remember they are a human being...
power goes to peoples heads..
this happens all the time and it sucks for example soldiers see other soldiers not as human beings anymore but as something to extinguish, people who are put in nursing homes and treated like crap, people who are in mental hospitals are involuntarily subjected to dangerous drugs (no-one is actually not in control of their own minds to think otherwise is to turn the person into a "it"), people who beat up their children, human trafickers, people who are racist turn the other person into an it worthy of crap just cz they are of a different colour and bcz they like to feel superior, men who rape etc.

teach him how to take advantage of the mentally weak. for example i often tell my staff "work hard and you can achieve anything" and all that crap but I know I'm only saying it to increase productivity for my own benefit and their personal amitions will never bear fruit. also teach him to hide his gift so others do not fear him, and so he may lure them into a feeling of security before manipulating them.
