I frequently shop online. I usually use a shopping bot to start. Some of the better ones are:
1. MySimon
2. PriceGrabber
3. Shopping.com
The bad thing about shopping online:
1. Always make sure you check the shipping price.
2. When buying from anyone (through one of the above shopping bots), be sure to read the consumer reviews to be sure that they are a solid company. The lowest price is not always the best!
When not using a shopping bot, just be sure the company is reputable. You can find customer reviews at epinions.com.
But be careful! Some of the reviews are shills, i.e., people friendly to the company that will post all good news about a product! Despite this, there are too many reviews from regular people and you can usually make an informed decision.
Good luck.

Nothing shady about 99.9% of pawn shops. People bring in guns for lots of reasons. Mainly, they need money. Sometimes they sell the gun outright, they get a loan (pawn) on the gun and don't come back for it, or they use it as a trade on another. Like everything else a pawn shop takes in, a record is kept and the local police come in every week or so and pick up the records and check them out against their records. Guns are checked against a national data base. When you buy a gun from a gun shop, you have to follow all State a Federal laws concerning firearms sales. A few years ago I was channel surfing and hit upon one of the government channels. A Congressman was ranting against guns. He said "You can walk into any pawn shop in the US and buy a gun, no questions asked!". I almost fell out of my chair. The guy was either an idiot or was telling a bald faced lie. Probably both. On buying a gun. If you don't know much about guns, you might want a freind who knows something about them to go with you. He will know what to look for concering the condition of the firearm. I was constantly amazed/horrified at the condition of firearms brought in to the shops I ran. You also want to be educated as to the prices of the guns you are looking at. Know what they sell for new, then take off accordingly for wear and tear. Too many pawn shops overprice everything, not just guns. Unless it is a new gun, the shop will usually be willing to haggle over the price, especially if you are paying cash. Again, a knowledgable freind will help. I have several guns that I have gotten in pawn shops; some really beat to sh*t 20 ga pumps, an AK-47 paratrooper, and a very nice M1 Garand. All were disgustingly filthy when purchased. All are now emaculate well functioning pieces. Everyone above me has given you good advise. Good hunting.

Yes, I shop online regularly. I find that as long as I stick to reputable stores, I will do well.
Why do I shop online?
1) Lower prices.
2) Large selection.
3) Obvious Convenience.
What is bad about shopping online?
1) You can't see an item in person, so color matching can be difficult (try buying furniture or something wooden online) and you can get a wrong impression about the size.
2) Order the wrong thing? Shipping back and a restock fee.
3) Sometimes, it's easier to get a human opinion.
I research items. Pricegrabber.com, bizrate.com, and epinions.com are all great sites. Become.com looks promising too.
I also check out specific sites for different sites- cNet for electronics, irrigationtutorials.com for sprinkler systems, and dpreview.com for cameras. Helps to know what you're buying right?
I shop online frequently- you can order on a whim, usually save money, and get it delivered without ever leaving your house. Very convient and now a part of my life.

I've shopped online a few times before...generally if you find a price that's 50% or less of the retail price (price found in stores like Walmart, Best Buy, Sears, etc) then it's either a rip off or a cheap knockoff.
If the website has nothing on it stating it's a "secure transation", then leave it NOW as they may be trying to rip your credit card.
If the website is written in HTML (has .html or .htm extensions) and then shopping cart does not have .shtml, then it is not secure and you may get your credit card or identity stolen.
Always check the return policy on anything you're buying. If it has a warranty available, read the warranty carefully.

Sometimes I do. But I never buy anything without going to http://www.ebay.com first. I look at lots of places before placing an order. You might can find it cheaper somewhere else. The only thing I've found wrong with online shopping is the shipping after you order something. Sometimes they don't send it out when they say they do but that's not all companies!

Yes I shop online sometimes because I get lazy. The thing about online shopping is if you win something you still have to pay shipping and handling

Yes, I enjoy it.
Typically I will know what product I will want before I order it and I usually research the product in person and just order it online.
Drawbacks? If your connection is not secure you could have your credit card information compromised. Other than that, there are more conveniences than incoveniences.

Never have shopped on line. I still like going to the stores. Of course I am strange because I still like to see movies at a theater instead of home.

I browse online but don't buy. I don't trust the security since ebay jacked up an account of mine. Besides, I find it's generally cheaper to drive to the store than it is to pay shipping.
