I like the old movies myself, but Kate & Leopold is good as well as Shakespear in Love (don't let the title fool you--its really good). Of course there's the Star Trek (TNG) films that are good, even if you are not a trekkie. I also enjoyed "Tuck Everlasting" because it gave a great conversation starter when it was over. This is the one story where I felt the book was not as good as the film.

Last Holiday w Queen Latifah.
Don't roll your eyes, it was actually good. I was against it but some friends wanted me to bring a movie before coming over. I chanced it and it turned out to be exactly what you're probably looking for--a date movie.

I think Kingdom of Heaven is a great movie to see with a date. Or Rumor has It was also good.
