Don't be so forcefull on them. Personally, speaking as a consumer, I HATE it when I'm asked over and over again if I want something different that what I want. It's aggravating and annoying and makes me not want to shop there. It's just as bad,if not worse, then telemarketing.

Try a mystery shopper and an incentive program. Have the mystery shoppers visit your business and report back to you whenever a staff member upsells. The person that upsells the most wins a monthly prize. The prize needs to be something worthwhile...such as a best Buy gift certificate worth $50.00 or a full paid day off work. The cost of the certificates or day off will be insignificant if you get the sales up. I use this system and it works like a charm.

Make sure they are always smiling (a hefty increase in their commision might do this).
