I used to live in a small town in the mountains of Tennessee, and the nearest shopping mall was in the eastern time zone, about an hour's drive away. If we left home at 8 AM Central Time, we'd get to the mall at 10 AM Eastern Time. If we left the mall at 4 PM Eastern Time, we'd get home at 4 PM Central Time.

So we joked that it took 2 hours to get to Chattanooga, but no time at all to get come back!

My house sits right smack on two time zones.
It's 5 am in the kitchen and 8 am in the living room. It really is driving me batty.
