I am asking, just out of precaution. I had a near miss just an hour ago. What are the odds of getting hit? Should we all consider protective clothing?

You need to know the rate at which the birds poop (i.e. how often do poops fall per hour). You also need to know the number of people who get crapped on per hour. Once you know this, you could probably use the Poisson distribution to provide a probability.

people say being pooped on a bird is good luck probably because the odds are not likely
of course, in a gang of birds flying overhead, your chances increase, so it depends on a great variety of factors ie, your area, bird population, species, size of poop, wind, rain, how cold it is, etc.

I don't know that the odds are, but I've never been hit (yet). I did see that concert when Cindy Lopper was hit in the lip by bird poo. She wiped it off and kept on going. Wow!

The probability is close to zero -- because birds tend to poop when they are flying, not when they are walking outside.

you've got to know
a)how many birds in your walkpath-how many frequent your walkpath(divide the latter with the former).
b)difference in number of birds with the time of day.-you'd probably have to make a chart.
