A CD-RW will not work any better than a CDR and will not last as long. Put a cleaning CD in your burner and follow the directions that came with it - you may have some dust on the lens. Use a higher quality CD (the kind designed for music). Your software may also be an issue, I prefer Nero but have also used Roxio successfully. Check your ram, you may be light on that. If you are burning from a CD player to a burner, change it to burner to burner (yes it works better). Still have problems - change the burner.

I've noticed than WinXP does not like more than 1 burning program running on the same machine. It causes all sorts of headaches. For example I had Roxio & Nero on the same machine and ran into all sorts of problems. To me Nero was the better program so I uninstalled Roxio and used Nero. Worked fine after that. Note that CD-RW can be used to make audio CD's, however, they will not play in all regular CD players.

cd-rw will not work if the problem is not solved.thats is there may be problem with the burning software so try and re-install it back, also try and repair the windows software, and again change the cd writer/dvd writer and make sure the audio you are burning is not corrupt.if possible try and burn different audio files and see.thank you.
