There are many different types of arthritis. Osteoarthritis is what people think of as the typical older person's disease where the joints wear down, but there is also rheumatoid arthritis (more common in females) which is an auto-immune disease where the body's immune system attacks the joints. That can start in very young children.

I don't exactly know how it starts or what causes it...sorry :-)
But I do know what doesn't cause it....The other day I read an article in the paper that clicking or cracking your fingers is not a cause of arthritis.
There are many different types of arthritis.....and some studies have shown that it could be genetic.

There is some strong evidence that it is directly linked to our diet. What we eat can cause all sorts of problems.
