how do you change your toolbar to show the day of the week and time it is?

I'm guessing that you're talking about the toolbar where the Windows start button is located. If this is the case then the only way that I know how to do what you want is to:
1. Right click the toolbar.
2. Click (uncheck) "Lock the Taskbar"
3. Click and Drag the new thin bar upward until the toolbar gets fatter.
4. You should now see the time, day of week, and date on the toolbar.
5. You can optionally right click the toolbar again and re-check the "Lock the Taskbar" option to prevent resizing of it.
