My friend had the same problem. She was scared and nrvous to tell her mom about her first boyfriend. But once she did, everything was ok. Your mom has had boyfriends too, right? So she should know how frustrating it is to go up to your mom and say "Mom, I have a boyfriend" and all that. But believe me, just talk to her. She may be worried about you making bad choices and your grades falling, and she might be worried if you have a boyfriend that has tatoos, peircings, etc. but having a bf doesnt mean anything should chnage. Keep your grades and attitude sky high while having a boyfriend. And remember, Never change for anyone, if the guy doesn't like you for you, or if he makes you uncomfortable and do things ya dont wanna do, he ain't worth your time.

that all depends on your mom... but if u think she will take it pretty well then YES! i hated this guy and complained bout him every day and then one day we had to travel for an overnight speech tournament and i spent the entire day with him and got to see a different person, that night we started going out... well the next day when i got home i had NO idea how to tell my mom, i was terrified, so i just walked in the house and said "mom, i have a bf" and everything was cool

Yes, you should tell her. Don't start sneaking around because it's hard to do all the time and once you slip and your mom finds out, she will stop trusting you. It's really hard to earn back that trust. She could prevent you from going out or she'll want to go everywhere with you to make sure she knows what you're doing at all times.

Only you know your relationship with your mom. It's hard to keep anything secret in a family and she will likely find out sooner or later. At 16, I'm guessing your mom wouldn't be too surprized that you have a romantic interest.

Ur mom can be ur best friend, she should be the one u do tell everything too. My mom and I had an estrange relationship and I regret that now. I wish I would have involved her more in my life, but she's gone now and I can't, dont make the same mistake I did.

If you dated him more then 2 weeks then yes, but usually if you just started dating him its better not to tell because it might not work out and you don't want to say you think he is the sweetest, nicest guy in the world and then on the next day come home and say he is a jerk

yes you should be able to tell your mom. I know not everyone always agrees with their parent, but for the most part they are right, and she is protecting you because most likelyt shes "been there done that" and if you cant tell her then that means you know deep in your heart, that he isnt the boyfriend you really need!!

I think you should. You should tell because if she finds out she will expect you are doing things that you aren't supposed to be doing that is only to keep the trust and make sure she agrees with you having a boyfriend.
