I mean theres always a possiblity that the fan will go out, but unlikely. Usually the first thing to go out in a PC would be the harddrive or power supply.

A fan can wear out on a pc, but it isn't that common. Leaving your computer on all the time won't hasten it's demise because the fan will usually only run when it needs to cool anyway. Replacements are cheap, just take your old computuer that is on the shelf in the basement, open it and take out and use the fan as a spare part.

The fan does have chance of shorting out on a pc, however most of the time is not because its left on.
Fans on pc short out because of wire problem, I'ved heard friends had problem with it and had to replace the fan right away. If the fan is not replace right away and the pc is left on, there is danger of overheating the core leading to burning of the CPU
But most likely it shouldn't wear out though, even if you leave your computer on for extensive time.
You might want to invest in liquard coolant for your cooling need if you plan to leave your pc on for extensive period of time. Most of these devices are DIY and not expensive, and they provide the best cooling device out there for today's high speed pc.
That way, you won't have to worry about fan running out and can sleep sound at night ^o^

Not normally but there has been exceptions to the rule. I guess it depends how well ventilated it is and if too much dust accumulates. Even if it does, replacing a fan is quite cheap. Just make sure that you get a new one straight away if it does because you don't want the processor to get too hot and burn out.

i leave my PC going 24/7 for the last 2 years and it still running without a problem but you do have to blow the dust and other stuff out once a month at least or it can overheat and cause problems.
