You can do exercises to help strengthen the legs/back/abdominal muscles but you have to know what type of sciatica you have first, as they differ for each type.
I would suggest you see a physical therapist or your doctor for specifics.

Reiki is a great therapy. It has many of the same benefits as massage. However it can be learned by anyone, including children, elderly or those with disabilities. It is primarily energy work and a very old technique. It is not really "new age" and does not require a belief in cyrstals or other such things. True reiki works with any belief system and does not interfere with any type of religion. Treatments are usually one to one and a half hours long and the price should be comprable to massage treatments in your area. Around here you can learn to do reiki yourself in a one day class for two hundred dollars or less, approx. the cost of 4 treatments. You can then treat yourself as often as you need or want to.

This is not specifically for sciatica but it can help in a lot of situations. It never claims to cure, only to help, though there are some truly amazing reports.

Yes - the one-time treatment Atlasprofilax would help.
Visit a therapist in California or Europe to experience the amazing results.
Once in a lifetime travelling plus spending approx. 220 dollars, according to my own experience it's really worth doing.

Massage Therapy has ALWAYS been a winner for me. With regular massages... I was able to do away with medications and altering my daily habits all together.
