I wouldn't want to be the leader... Too much pressure...
Has to be someone who can handle stress, can make snap decisions, is sure of what (s)he is doing, passes praise where due...

I am confident, a good listener, a good decision maker and i have common sense.
You need to be confident to take a stand and lead, you need to listen to others, no-one knows everything! You need to make a decision, no umm'ing and arr'ing and common sense is something you must have!
