I need a pair of tires for my '05 Nissan Quest...apparently there's only one brand (firestone eagles) that come in this size, and there's none to be had within 500 miles of where I'm at. What alternates can I use, and how do these sizes differ dimensionally? My main concern is height, this vehicle sits low to the ground as is.

you can use a P215/65R16, the difference is in the overall diameter. A P215 is smaller than a P225 meaning that it turns more RPM, therefore your speedometer may be affected slightly (read faster than you are actually going). Usually the difference is very slight-maybe 1 or 2 MPH. Using a wider tire (P225/60/R16) may cause some interference if used on the front due to clearances when turning. Again there may be a small speedometer difference. A knowledgeable salesperson can explain the concept of Plus 1, Plus 2, etc. when changing tire sizes. Look for the recommended tire size info sticker on your van-it should list replacement sizes that are acceptable. The sticker is usually on one of the door frames.

how to read tire sizes - P225/65/R16
R16 means Radial 16" wheel
225 is225mm wide tread width
65 means sidewall is 65% as high as tread width or 146.25mm

I think I'd let them have a day or so to UPS them to the shop rather than deviate sizes. Changing sizes can have a detrimental effect on speedo readings and related sensors like ABS.
