In earlier eras, sheaths for the penis were made from various materials, and were often re- used. These days, they are generally made of thin latex, and are not intended for re- use; the risk of breakage is too high.

Other materials are sometimes used eg polyurethane, if the people involved have an allergic reaction to latex / rubber. (This problem is becoming more common, especially among medical, nursing and other occupational groups who must wear latex gloves at work.) I am not sure if polyurethane male condoms can be re- used, but I assume it would be unwise. You see, to reduce aversion among male users, who whinge about the loss of sensitivity etc, the condoms are made very thin (unlike older models), so they are likely to tear, if re- used.

There is a female condom, and re- use of that is widely reported, especially among the poor. While re- use is not recommended, it seems to offer better protection than "no condom", if that is the only other choice open to poor women, eg in Third World countries eg see:

I see no reason for you to have to use a condom, our country's Deputy President said that you can shower after sex and you won't get aids (in court, under oath). [ps. I'm South African]

So why would you want to wear a condom in the first place?

If you want to clean it, float it in boiling water for half an hour and then dry it with a hair dryer.

if you are going to wash it out and reuse it, you might as well not even bother with it in the first place. I hope you asked this question because you wanted to get some funny responses, or just wanted to know what people would say and you were not being serious.
