I'm an aficionado of self help books. My friends have a lot of problems.

I think Dr Albert Ellis is the Best.

I wish he didn't have to get old, he now looks like Dr. Kevorkian.

For cleaning try Hints from Heloise?

I still love you. ( Blatant kiss up)

I'm thinking you could "kill two birds with one stone" by hanging out at the library. While you are there looking for great self-help books, you may make a friend or two and find you have similar interests. I know in the areas of parenting and cleaning, it's fun to develop new skills and practice new habits when you work at it with another person. Plan play dates with another parent at each others homes. On those play date days, set aside some time to help each other with the housekeeping. Win/win.

As far as the love thing goes... who knows what could happen at the library?

Love-dating, marriage, parental...what love?

For dating and marriage, books by Dr. Phil McGraw ("Dr. Phil"-TV), Dr. Laura Slessenger ("Dr. Laura"-radio), Dr. John Gray ("Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus" series of books) are a good start.

Parenting-Dr. Spock is an old favorite, though might be outdated. The TV show "The Nanny" is really great because you can see the problems and she shows the solutions. Plus, I believe Dr. Phil has a parenting book too. Check out his website for a listing of his books.

Cleaning-"Helouise" is a name that comes to mind.

All this books can be found in the library.

I will answer you in 4 parts.
love:Tina Turner said it, "What's love got to do with it?"
parenting: the little tossers will come out with whatever you instill in them (terrifying thought, isn't it!)
cleaning: why bother, it will just be a mess 2 hours later!
have that hubby of yours hire you some once a week help!
Friends: they will just back stab you anyway, take up a hobby, like running! It will give the illusion you are running away from hubby, kids, laundry, etc.

The Alchemist is a good story and very inspiring but I forget who it is by. Easy to read and a sweet reminder that you can search to the ends of the earth only to realise what you want was right under your nose all along.
Practising the power of now by Eckhart Tolle
Who moved my cheese by Dr Spencer Johnson
