It's all bulls**t. Like someone else here said, it's aimed at the so-called "Christians". Bush's approval ratings are at an all-time low, and since even the religious nuts who normally support him have now become disillusioned, he has to find a way to win them back. After all, this is an election year, and Bush can't afford to lose even one house of Congress to the Democrats, because then he might be held accountable for a change.

To say the least, passing a Constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage is ridiculous! Marriage laws are made by the states, and it should stay that way. It's funny how the Republicans complain about "big government". If anything, under Bush, it's gotten bigger than it ever did under a Democratic president. But then again, I guess the Republicans think it's OK for the government to expand just as long as it doles out welfare to corporations instead of individuals who really need it, it keeps the foreigners out (especially the brown-skinned ones), and it keeps people from marrying members of their own sex.

Also, contrary to what many may say, the illegal immigrants do NOT take away jobs from Americans. If anything, they usually do the jobs most Americans aren't willing to do. This has been proven. In fact, according to one study, Nevada has one of the highest numbers of illegal immigrants in the country. It also has one of the lowest unemployment rates. That should tell us something! Unfortunately, the very same people who rail against the illegal immigrants seem to forget that they, too, are descended from immigrants.

Now we can't have gay couples running around America and going wild man. Just being sarcastic. I'm gay btw.

Seriously though, I think securing our borders from the fu*king freeloading mexicans is more important than worrying about Canada

Stopping gay marriage would be horrible. Why stop hundreds of thousands of people who love each other from getting married. They have to pay taxes and have the same responsibilities as everyone else. Why not give them some rights too??

I think the most important thing to do in the US right now is to figure out how to make it to 2008 with W screwing up our ocuntry more.

Securing the border. There is little to no chance an American will die if gay people get married.

My Atheist boyfriend says it is not organic. From a scientific attitude, it is not. The intercourse area, besides. Marriage is basically a legal bond and is a shaggy dog tale those days. enable them to marry, they are basically going to get divorced like such a number of interior the hetero international. No distinction, particularly.

Amazingly, we can do both at the same time. It's just that Democrats don't want to do either. Must be hard to be a Democrat and pretend to support the Constitution and the United States, but there it is.

It's hard to take this question seriously. Anyone who equates the dangers of poor border security (i.e. terrorism, drug trafficking, the spread of disease, huge economic burden, etc.) with "the dangers" of gay marriage (i.e. gay people... er.... getting married) is stupid beyond hope of recovery.

The illegal immigration problem is far more of a national concern than gay marriage.
