You didn't mention which OS you would like to find freeware for!
There is much more freeware available for the Palm OS than for Pocket PC.
For Palm freeware, the largest collection I have found in one place is http://www.freewarepalm.com
Of course, you can also look for freeware by searaching (use the advanced search option to narrow down to freeware when possible) at http://www.handango.com or http://www.palmarchives.com http://www.tucows.com or http://www.palmboulevard.com or etc. Read the descriptions carefully to know if you're getting freeware or a free demo version of a program.

Oh, yeah you can get free downloads, good ones too. Go to places like freeware.com or palmboulavard.com and there's many other sites if you Google it. but you can get full games and full programs. try it it'll work. Hope i helped.
