He told my friend that he thinks I'm cute but whenever it's just the 2 of us he'll always wonder where my friend is, when I tell him where she is he goes off to her, but my friend also tells me that he always asks where I am. So confused, also, I always catch him looking at me but I'm too chicken to ask him out.

dont ask him out, just try to get up the gumption if he likes you or not. If you wanted to know that bad.. just do it. afterwards im sure you'll feel much better not wondering constantly what could have been between you two but nothing ever did because nothing was ever said

Just ask him. The worst that can happen is that he says no. You don't have to be crazy about it or anything, just tell him that you've heard...Say you wanted to know the whole story before things had a chance to get wierd. If yes, okay. If no, okay. Things go on as normal.
Or NOT, I guess depending on the answer. Maybe things get better!

Anyway... you should ask him straight what is he looking for. Just friends? Lovers? Sex?
Ask him and you will feel better. You will know which one (you or your friend) he likes more.
