Those countries that do provide free health care for their populations are essentially Socialist-type governments. That health-care and many other perks are not-so-free either. The tax rates on income go as high as 60% with certain "luxury" items like cars commanding an 80% tax... unless it's for use as a taxi then it's only 40 %.

That would be great (I have no insurance/health problems kind of serious) and I can't do a think about them. I know of others in the same position. The only thing about the free health care is I understand in a couple locations it is very difficult to get IN to see a doctor. One person wrote on here that her mom lived out of the country and needed medical attention right away (not ER right away) and she called for appointment and the fasted anyone could see her was 6 months down the road. So, I don't know. I'm going to ask this question next - to outside of the country.

America, in case you don't know already, is all about money! "Free" would mean the government would have to have some type of plan in place to pay for the "free" health care. Which means in all likelihood it would be cheaper which would not go well with with the corporate greed that is so pervasive in this country.

If they did then how would those poor health insurance companies be able to rob us blind with their outrageous costs?

It makes me sick when big business takes advantage over the little guy. Sadly, our government probably won't fix this problem until its too late and theres no more middle class left.
