actually my periods are very irregular and i dont know what to do
i have read that it is due to bad diet
earlier i was very thin but still my periods are regular but from the last three months i have gained weight and coincidentally since then my periods are irregular
plz help me

Its true if you loose alot of weight your periods will stop. It happens in female marathon runners and I believe female body builders. ALso you want a regular period try getting on birth control pills to regulate your period.

I am not a doctor or a med student but I am overweight and I am also very regular like a calender, my daughters weight fluxuates and she is also regular. I can't imagine a few pounds up or down each month actually affecting your menstual cycle each month. I would see a gynecologist, any chanse of pregnancy???god luck

I am a med student.
Weight variations can change your periods because the amout of fat changes. It is important because sexual hormones are made by testes and ovaries with cholesterol so it can change your hormone levels in blood.
The same thing happened to me during my internship, I was so regular during it and lost some pounds, but now that I ended it...

one of my friends told me that when there is a weight loss or gain.. ur period also fluctuates.... so i guess that explains
i guess wht you need to do is reach appropriate weight 4 ur height and then try maintaining it.... sorry..i am no gynecologists but still felt like mentioning...

A gynecologist would need to examine you. There is NO way to tell what is going on without an exam.
