How can you appreciate the sunshine if you didnt have the night? How could you know about Love if you never experienced Lonliness? No you couldnt.Life has its ups and downs, its full of seasons of change, the problems come but make us stronger and grow. When you really evaluate your situation you see that you truly are blessed, many will have it better then you, many will have it worse. No one can know happiness without having a single time of sadness.A long life is a blessing,we are here to serve God and mankind using those talents he has given us. Happiness comes in small moments, consistently throughout life.

Interesting question. Life is so precious. I often hope that I have a very long life, mainly so that I can see all the changes that come over time. In my 42 years so far I have seen the most incredible social changes and the most wonderful inventions. But I've always lived each day of my life to the fullest. If I should die "early" then at least I would know that I have not wasted a moment of my life (well, at least not since school -- LOL).

So I guess short, happy, safe & carefree..... With money!

Life is full of ups and downs. I'd rather live a long life. Too many people are so concerned about money. Life is what you make it. Children give more than a few moments of happiness. Try coping with the death of a child? Most younger people today can not deal with stress or disappointments in life. When life worries you, play music, go for a walk, etc., to boost your morale.

i don't know why you ask this question, but here is my opinion.
life is what you make out of it.its about choices, especially right ones.i hate it when people envy others for a better life.there is always a better way to do the things you do.for example,if you have not so good paid job,o.k.,then go visit some classes at evening colleges and try to get some diploma with witch you could apply for a better job.more income always mean a better life with less stress and worries.kids are very exhausting and take a lot of strength, but if you look at it on the long term, and you should for A L L decisions, when you are a little older (about 40)
you will surely miss family.even if it never meant a thing to you.
so,my advice is to improve your financial situation and you will see how things will brighten up.for me i have 3 kids and i can tell you there is nothing so precious as children and being a part of their life.good luck!

This is difficult given my particular situation. Lately I've been thinking it's not worth it. Was out of work for a while and we got so far behind in $$ that we face losing our apartment and will have no place to go. My heart is racing all the time, I'm scared.....and to be honest, I have a granddaughter; and a grandson on the way. The way things feel right now, I wonder how good of a grandmother am I for my kids/grandkids if I'm living on the street. The only time I am happy it seems is when I have that precious baby with me (and I get her this weekend). I think they will grow up thinking we are failures because of the financial difficulties (I grew up in a nice home/dad retired from Pentagon and I had things that my kids don't have). I want "hope" and to be happy just a little bit ...... I know if I could at least get my bills paid (have no credit cards/credit because of a drug addicted older son who stole everything from us) and fear of electric getting shut off (as I wouldn't be able to get ready for work - where I am now and not clocked in yet). I've lately wanted to not be here at all. I don't mean to sound depressing but the question was asked and I broke down and cried last night over this mess and I'm tired of crying too - it makes my sinus hurt and my eyes swell up.

That is one hard question.....Hmm

I think I'd rather live a long life. Because in that way, I'd be able to be with my family and I'd also see my children grow. I think I would be able to go through that because my family is there to help me and it would be impossible if I got bad luck all through my life so there would have to be a few lucky days here and there.

Also, If I only live a short life with all those things, then it would be worth nothing. You do have all those things but you're gonna die anytime soon so you will have some kind of problem.

That's my choice.
So that's my choice

I would take the long life, even though it is fraught with stress, problems, and lack of money, you will learn and grow from these things and the joy of seeing your children grow is something many of us take for granted, you children will see how you handle things and they may be better prepared for the world from the struggles you have.

If you have a good but short life you miss out on the little things like your kids, money dosn't make you happy and it is not something that fulfils you.

To chose I would have to say a very long life.

Why I choose that is because I don't know a life w/out heartache,worries,or even w/tons of money.

I feel that I'm happier w/the ups and downs of life, what would be really difficult and sad would to never be there for my adult children or grandbabies that will come along eventually. I truelly believe happiness comes from w/in and NOT material things, granted theres alot out there that feel thats all they have and know no other life.
I'm happy w/the long life w/ALLthe ups and downs.

I work at a assisted living center. People are board there, and have nothing to look forward to but the next meal (my option). A few are lucky and get visits, but most of them sleep a lot because they have little to do but watch TV. I would choose a short, and exciting life if it was up to me.
