A)- the most important goal of literature and its studyin' is that it provides "happiness" to readers of various cultural backgrounds, exactly as critics states it.
Readers finds it joyful to read tragedy, comedy or any work of fiction even it is of a tragic theme.

B)- literature sometimes works as a historical chronicle. For example, Shakespeare wrote many historical plays depicting the "real" political and social state of Britain at different periods of time. for example, he wrote " HenryIV", "HenryV", "Henry VI", "Richard II" and many more. Hence, literature can easily show you a piece of your land's history and make it easy for you to learn incidents by heart, instead of learning them from some dull and monotonous history book ;)

C)- literature provides us with moral values as it deepens good attitudes inside us. It shows you wrong and right, evil and good and so forth.

D)-Literature inspires people and works as a guide or a "map" showin' people how to live their lives in the right way and make the ultimate use of them.

Importance Of Studying Literature

Reading and writing is arguably the most widely practiced way of communicating what it is to be alive as a human being. The literature you study in high school and college wasn't written solely for the purpose of entertainment (the way most television is now). Literature conveys the human experience, all those abstract ideas that we know intuitively, but don't understand-- so we explore them in stories and discuss them with others and exchange ideas until we feel like we've gained some kind of understanding. Then we use that understanding to understand other ideas, and so on, until we've made the world a better place.

It all sounds romantic and cliche, but that's what's up.

Literature is important because through the eyes of the authors, whether the piece be a short story, novel, essay, or poem, we get insights into human nature and the world around us. That, for example,is why 350 years after his death, we still read and study Shakespeare. His insights into human nature and the human condition are incredible, and through his work, we get to understand better others, ourselves, and the world around us.

Invitational rhetoric is a theory of communicating to gain understanding in which the speaker and audience are considered equals, variant perspectives are valued, and individuals can choose to change through social interaction. "While much has been written in rhetorical studies as it relates to gender, less attention has been paid to the influence of power on rhetorical style. We situate our thinking in relation to feminist rhetorical theory before examining the literature on power. Our concept of reciprocal empowerment is relevant to at least two main approaches in feminist rhetorical studies as outlined by Foss, Foss, and Griffin (1999). One of these areas is scholarly inquiry about the notion of feminine style: "First articulated by Campbell, feminine style refers to a discursive mode that emerges out of the experiences of women and is `adapted to the attitudes and experiences of female audiences'" (p. 21). Foss, Foss, and Griffin note that characteristics of this style include personal tone, reliance on personal experience, inductive structure, audience participation, and a goal of empowerment. Dow and Tonn (1993) extend this to include promotion of feminist political philosophies. Dow (1995) later acknowledged that this perspective has not clearly recognized the importance of race and class (Foss, Foss, & Griffin, 1999).
