Its the same with converting mp3 files to .wav files. The size gets bigger. You cant change the size or preserve it. Its just how the extension handles the file. AVI files are pretty out of date now. They have been one of the first extension that were created for movie and video files. They never changed in size. Then as the years passed, more extensions were created and it would compress the file size more and more. The compression of files will always get better and it will improve, but the original extensions that we have out there will not change because thats just how it was built in the first place. There might be a future invention where they might have a program that will compress avi files into a compressed avi file, but for right now, there is none.
