Go to the reference page in Yahoo. From there you can pull up the encyclopedia, or go to htp://en.wikipedia.com/wiki. In the search box, enter "Turkey". You will come up with several, but just look for the country of Turkey.
The capital of Turkey was Constantinople approx. 1000 years ago. Then was changed to Istanbul (year unknown). My dad was stationed there 1960-1961. Hope this helps?!

Is English your first language? how much time do you have? A few years ago I had to write a paper on Spanish art history ...written in Spanish which is not my first language. Some of my best sources were bilingual children's books. I'm guessing that your are in school. If so, see if your school has some volunteer tutors who can help you. Take lots of notes from many different sources....books as well as the internet. Keep track of your sources so you can list then later. Make a rough outline, then a very detailed outline , then a rough draft, then a more polished draft.This all sounds like a lot of work,but believe me; it beats starting out writing a paper and getting bogged down in the middle of it.If English is your first language, ask a knowledgeable friend to help you edit your paper.
