Because they would invent stupid things like the internet or Yahoo! Answers, while they could be doing something more constructive like bombing cities that supports terrorists.

That's a funny question.
It depends on your definition of dumb.
For example, if you believe that the overall intelligence of a people is measured by the responses you get to stupid questions on an internet question and answer site (such as, what is the world's longest river?) then your perception of american intelligence is, at best, flawed.
Let me point out, however, that you are currently using a computer that was invented by Americans, on the internet, which agian is an American invention, and either over telephone or cable lines, which again, are american inventions.
What are the indian inventions to match? Curry? Dots on the forehead? Tell me one thing that india has contributed to the world in say, the last 1000 years.

This is not uncommon.
People who are not that familiar with the USA, and their people fall for stereotypes.
In all groups of people there are RANGES of categories.
There are PRETTY people, and pretty-ugly people. Smart, and not so smart, Good, and not so good, Honest/dishonest.
All MUSLIMS aren't TERRORIST, but the ones we hear about ARE, so... it seems, to us... like they are.
Perception is reality.
The truth is MANY Americans, dare I say MOST Americans are NOT dumb. And the fact that the QUESTIONER thinks so means that they have HUNG around the WRONG GROUP of people, or they are basing their beliefs on something that's not valid (like American Television... or the word of jealous person)
Look around... if all Americans are DUMB, then why do we have such great cities?

Your question assumes that we are dumb and trying to explain it . have you heard the saying "dumb like a fox" ? That might fit. Or are you saying "dumb like a box of rocks" ? A box of rocks can crush alot of stuff. Name me another country that has given more aid to any country that needed it than the U.S.A. Is it dumb to give this aid to so many ungrateful countries? Maybe ? What country has opened its arms to all people of all countries to come to our shores ? With the current immigration issues in our country, it shows how open we really are. Is that dumb? There maybe a argument for that.

We're not dumb. We just have the biggest guns, and a government that lets us have them too. Just remember, when you talk about "Americans," you're not just talking about the U.S. Don't forget Canada, Mexico, the countries of Central America and South America and all the happy vacation spots that dot our coasts.

Their not dumb, the people in the USofA have been hoodwinked by the "Bushwackers" This gang are professionals and they have been bending over the people for many years as far back as the second world war .So it`s not the people their agenda is to survive .

What does that say for you and your people being that we have the most powerful nation with the most advanced technology, have the highest standard of living, and the largest economy? Have to be pretty dumb to do all that, huh?

Since dumb people usually are the vast majority of immigrants(they can't make it in there home countries), and the USA is a land of immigrants and their descendants, therefore they are stupid. Stupid people breed stupid people. The current morons from Latin America and Asia are the stupidest of all.

they are not dumb.man i know ur an indian.i m too an indian by origin but a U.S born citizen.before some years americans were the no.1 students in the world.USA has got the best infrastructure and highest development in the world.so before you say anything see of yourself and piss off man!!!dont sh*t in here!!!
