Use a bird feeder that is inside a meshed box/cage. That way only 'small' animals/birds will be able to reach the food inside.

They're easily availabe from shops/web. We ahve one hanging from our balcony. It's about 6" square and is designed to hold live food (meal-worms etc) but also holds seed etc. Stops anything bigger than a blue-tit getting to the food.

First of all, don't shoot them! (to some people violence is the answer to everything!) It's not necessary. I don't think you can stop them from coming to your garden.Just put the seed in a container inside a cage made of mesh that the little birds and not the big birds can get through (make sure it's out of range of a beak poked through though :-) )

12 Bore Shotgun loaded with birdshot should do the trick but advise the neighbours first otherwise they may try to get an ASBO to prevent the noise.
