In 2004 I was the janitor at the East Greenwich, RI Mcdonalds,
it was $7.75/hr and free lunch.
The order takers probably earned a little less.
I think the minimum wage was less than 7 here then.
It is 7.10 now.

I am guessing since McDonald's is an independent franchise, each owner determines what they want to pay the workers. They have to at least pay minimum wage but the hourly rate may be different depending on how desperate they need workers. In the New Jersey area I wouldn't be surprised if they pay at least $8-$10 an hour. Cost of living on the east coast is pretty high.

Depends on where you live. They pay minimum wage to all there employees at first then they give a raise of .25-.50 every time your evaluation comes up. I believe the max is $2.00 over what you start out at.
