I honestly think that you might need some distance in order to move on with your feelings. It is going to be hard to forget her if you are still close as friends. How will you feel knowing that you are no longer together and being in the same room as her? You would feel like crap and distance will minimise that feeling.
Ultimately it will take time to move on. Love hurts like hell when you break up and it takes time to get over that 'worst part' pain. If you keep your distance and keep contact minimal, plus keep going on with your own life, you will eventually find that the pain will subside.
I hope you make it through this emotional roller-coaster we call relationships.

well, first thing u gotta do is to win her parents heart and get them to like u b4 someone else did... move fast chump... another thng is that, are u sure that it's only because of her parents that she breaks up with u? better go make sure of this... still, if things can't go the way u want it to... then hope for the best and try do things which can make her feel happy if u still love her... let her move on with her life then...

Well, there's no rush for either of you to get over one another though it may be best to do so if that's the situation. If you feel that she really is the one for you then try to get back on her and prove your worth to her parents. If not, then just stay friends with her, don't force yourself to do something you're not yet ready to do. Friendship often heals.

i hav learned from SO many things, GOLDEN RULE: you can NOT be FRIENDS w an X. no ifs ands or buts about it. you cannot be friends w an x. it sounds good when ur breaking up. but that's just so u can hold on to that person and hope it all works out again. dont kid urself, just move on w out them! ur more important than someone who does not want to b w u.

Eat lots of chocolate. Yea, that works sometimes. It will take time and just let the past go. Do not look behind or you will turn into a block of salt.

in my opinion it's not up to her parents who she choses to be with. i mean it didn't take them three years to see how you were. did it?
but trying to be friends when you still got feelings for her is not a good idea, because all that will happen is you'll get jealous when she does move on.
