Yes, both Google and Yahoo have a button next to the search box on the respective toolbar which allows you to Clear Search History or Clear Recent Searches.

When you type a letter in the search box a pop down list of recent searches appears. Use the down arrow to highlight the words you want to delete and press delete. That search will disappear from the list. However, I don't know if a record of that search will remain elsewhere on your computer.

Yes and if you go to the tools on the main bar you can clear all the recent sites you have visited (its under internet options) that way no one can see what sites you have recently visited.

Yes, point to your Internet browser, right click on it to see Internet properties, click it to see the properties and clear the browsing history, if you like you can also clear the cookies. Then click apply.
