I personally don't think there is an antichrist but he cannot or will not do anything right. Most democracies in the past last about 200 or so years and ours is on its way out now. It no longer works. Our votes are not counted and corporations own everything.

The spirit of the anti-christ works through individuals by way of ridding the world of God in all forms. I suspect that when and if a true anti-christ arrives in the form of a human, all of those who fought so hard to rid the world of God will know who he is. After all, they will have been his puppets all along, doing his will and I'm sure they will be rewarded.
