I think dark skin is stunning! I'm not just saying that. I am very pale, and don't intend on going to an unhealthy tanning booth anytime soon. That said, I love darker skin. I think we are born with what we are born with. I had commented on a youtube video of Tyra and a model who was saying how she never felt pretty because she was dark. I pointed out in my comment that being white, although idealized by society over time, is not something to be valued anymore. Or, at least, it shouldn't be valued anymore. Skin color can't define a person. I pointed out how it sucks that we get moles, sun burns (bright red tomato skin( that peels), and turn pink from exercise. I think there are beautiful women in every ethnic group, and as i had said in response to Tyra's video, "the victorian era is over, so why are we still obsessed with pale skin." My point is that you are perfect just the way you are. It's like the blonde vs. brunette debate. There are blondes with prettier faces/ brunettes/ red heads/ black hair...etc. Finally, just a additional comment...my sister's best friend has stunning brown skin, and looks like a model. I think it's a shame that there are so many people who judge based on skin color when it's such a trivial topic.

Try changing the face wash, and use one for dry skin in case you have not. During the day, try rubbing in a little baby oil on the troubling dry areas several times a day. At night, or when you are going to bed, try a richer, oiler emolient cream (like an aqueous cream) on the dry areas. In the mean time, it sounds like you avoid drying things like soap, so keep that up. the dry at should clear up within a few days; if it doesn;t check with a dermatologist.

check out cherry cod liver oil,by Twin Labs, take one Tablespoon three times a week. You can find it at any health food store or on the web. Oil up from the inside out, all your skin will be just beautiful...also try a creamy soap, like dove with about an ounce of baking soda, soap up first, neck too, then with finger tips in curcular motion softly scrub all your face with the baking soda, for a minute or so, then rinse with distilled water lots and lots. pat dry with a soft terry cloth, i use the ones for babies, they are sooo soft. and apply a very lite lotion...like Cetaphill...sold at Wal-Mart's or any drug store. and never forget the water drinking, at least eight glasses of h2o a day.

Have you tried Cetaphil facial cleanser? It's great for dry skin and especially for sensitive skin. They also make lotions.
