How can you distinguish which cable at an equipment cabinet is connected to which outlet?

All investigations must be performed while the company is operating, hence you can not unplug any of the cables. You also must consider some form of packet tracing.

unless there is software that tracks your patch panel (very unlikely) then the only way is to physically check. why do you need to unplug the cable anyway? you can still trace while they're still plugged in.
